La Fille du Régiment | Théâtre des Champs-Elysées

Gloria performs Marie in Théâtre des Champs-Elysées children's production of Donizetti's La Fille du régiment, conducted by Alexandra Cravero with the Orchestre Les Siècles.

Performances on June 7, 8, 14, 15 & 16, 2027.

La Fille du régiment is one of the most sparkling operas in the repertoire. Behind its virtuosic arias and joyful energy, Donizetti tells the story of Marie, a young girl raised by a regiment of soldiers. When her past resurfaces, she finds herself confronted with a world very different from her own: one of strict aristocratic rules and well-established codes.

This participatory production invites us to rediscover the work through a playful and inventive lens, inspired by children's imagination. Their ability to blend worlds and transform everyday objects fuels the staging here. The stage becomes a playground where elements are transformed, scales are distorted, and visual surprises play a full part in the storytelling.

At the heart of the story, the encounter between opposing worlds gives rise to both comedy and emotion. Caught between the warm regiment that raised her and the more rigid world of the nobility, the young heroine must find her place and understand what truly constitutes her family.

Between humor, tenderness, and collective adventure, La Fille du régiment is, here, an invitation to discover opera differently: as a moment of play, imagination, and encounter between stage and audience.

New co-production by Opéra Grand Avignon, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées – Paris, Opéra Orchestre Normandie Rouen, Atelier lyrique de Tourcoing, and Opéra National de Bordeaux.
